Baptisms Sign Up

As you complete the form, please be mindful that registration for a baptism ceremony closes the Sunday prior to the ceremony. For example, registration for the ceremony on November 9 will close at the end of the day on Sunday, November 2. Our baptism process takes a few days, and we want to ensure there’s enough time to connect with you and prepare to celebrate this special moment together. You may still register at any time, but you will be scheduled for the following baptism celebration. (We schedule baptisms roughly every 6 weeks).

Interested in Baptism?

We are so excited that you are interested in taking your faith public through baptism. Whether you have just begun a relationship with Jesus or have been a long-time Jesus-follower, baptism is an important step of obedience for every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as savior. Being in front of a crowd or the idea of baptism can be scary for some people, so we want to help you understand what baptism is and why it is important. What exactly is baptism? Jesus gave his followers instructions to baptize each other in Matthew 28:18-20. Baptism is an act of obedience that represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus through submersion in water. Simply put, it is something we do to show we have a relationship with God, not something that gives us the relationship. Thinking of it like a wedding ring is helpful. The ring doesn’t make the relationship, but it does show there is a relationship. Baptisms are taking place during our 9 am & 11 am services on Sept. 14th, 2024.

Sharing the story of God's impact on your life

At Centerpoint Church, we love celebrating baptism—it’s a public way to say, “Jesus has saved me, and I’m following Him.” It’s a personal step, but also a powerful way to share how Jesus has changed your life and point others to the hope found in Him.

To help you prepare for your baptism, we ask that you answer the questions below. It gives you space to reflect on your story and helps us share it clearly.  You don’t need perfect words or a dramatic story—just an honest reflection of how you came to trust Jesus as your Savior and what He’s done in your life. The most important part is what Jesus has done for you.

We may offer help clarifying or refining your testimony, but we’ll always make sure you’re comfortable with what’s shared on your baptism day.

What was life like before you began following Jesus? What were you relying on?
Sample:

“Before I trusted Jesus, I tried to figure life out on my own. I looked to things like success, people, or staying busy to feel okay. I believed in God but didn’t really know Him. Deep down, I knew something was missing—peace, direction, forgiveness.”

What helped you realize you needed Jesus? Who or what helped you understand the gospel?
The gospel is this: Jesus is God’s Son, who died to pay for our sins and rose again to give us new life. When we trust Him, we’re forgiven, made new, and given eternal life.

Sample:
“Over time, I started to realize I couldn’t fix myself or carry everything alone. I heard that Jesus died for my sins—not just to help me be better, but to save me. I learned that trusting Him meant receiving grace, not earning it. When I understood that He paid the price for me and rose again, I chose to trust Him with my life. I’m thankful for the people who pointed me toward Jesus and walked with me through that decision.”

How has your life changed since trusting Jesus? What hope do you now have?
Sample:
“Since trusting Jesus, I know I’m forgiven, and I don’t have to carry guilt or fear anymore. I still face challenges, but now I have peace and a purpose I didn’t have before. I know I’m loved by God, not because of what I do, but because of what Jesus has done for me. I’m learning to follow Him and live out the new life He’s given me.”

(Friend, family, church, community group, etc.)

This could be a friend, mentor, small group leader, or staff member.  Our team will be ready to baptize you, but we know it can be meaningful to select someone.  Due to some schedule limitations and responsibilities, not all staff members may be available for baptisms.

Whichever service you select, you will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start time of that service for a quick rally.

We believe that baptism is a meaningful celebration best shared with the church community you are connected to. While attending regularly is not a requirement, we encourage you to take this step with the church community you are a part of.
